Woodward School Board Issues COVID-19 Precautions, Mask Mandate

The Woodward School Board has put a mask mandate in place for students and staff.

The district also released a graphic illustrating new quarantine protocols. if everyone is wearing a mask only the COVID positive person would have to isolate. CDC guidance suggests anyone with close contact should stay home.

But the district's supt. says kids need to be in school.

"We have hundreds of kids in quarantine and we don't see them coming back with positive results....we don't see spread within our school...we don't know where those kids are going during the day...are they being supervised," said Woodward school superintendent Kyle Reynolds.

The State Superintendent told us while she applauds the mask mandate...its crticial to abide by quarantine rules set by the state department of health and the CDC.
