The state election board and OG&E are scrambling to get generators to several Oklahoma City metro polling places that don't have power.

There’s a power outage at the Northwest Church of Christ near Northwest 23rd Street and North Meridian Avenue.

Voting inspector, Paula Ruckel, said although they have no power and extremely long lines, voting's been running smoothly so far.

"We set up what we could and then we came and still didn't have power and then we did the emergency bin which has been going well. long lines, it's nonstop,” Ruckel said.

Fortunately Oklahoma has a paper ballot system in place.

At these locations without power, voter's will fill out their ballot and then drop their votes into an emergency bin.

Later Tuesday evening, voting leaders will take the secured emergency bins to the county election board, where the ballots will then be scanned in and counted.

Election leaders say the process is secured and all votes will be counted. "it's so full, there's so many voters, i had to pack them up and secure them and then start again,” Ruckel said.

Ruckel said the wait line is around one hour right now, which could increase throughout the day.

If you're still needing to find your polling place, you can head over to the state's online voter portal.

Polls close at 7 p.m.
