Police: Man Shot In The Stomach After Altercation In Tulsa

Tulsa Police said a man is in the hospital after he was shot Tuesday evening.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m. near 61st Street and Peoria.

Police said the victim was walking from the store when the suspect drove up. A verbal altercation occurred, and the suspect shot the victim once in the stomach, according to authorities.

The victim, identified as Derrick Griffin, was taken to a local hospital.

Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other. 

The suspect has not been identified. Authorities said it is unclear what the altercation was about.
