Cold winter air will arrive late Sunday evening across northwest Oklahoma and will likely hang out through Thursday.
A large storm system is on track to bring record cold temperatures over the next four days. Sunday night will be wet and chilly with ice and sleet occurring overnight heading into Monday. The precipitation will increase through Monday and we will see a chance for freezing rain, sleet and perhaps snow as temperatures drop below freezing at times in parts of Oklahoma.
Tuesday night will bring another wave of rain to the western half of the state bringing a strong chance for sleet and ice to the OKC area. Things start to look better on Wednesday as data suggests ice and sleet will be mainly occur across western Oklahoma.
