3 Siblings Help Yukon Community Experiencing Hardships Due To Pandemic

As COVID-19 continues to impact metro residents, a Yukon family is hoping they can help those in need.

The three siblings created their own grocery store outside of their home for people to shop and go.

Because of the pandemic, the children did not have as many day-to-day activities as they did before.  

"We don't get to do as many activities anymore, and we stay inside,” Carlen Otts said. “We don't go out as often.”

"We don't get to go our activities anymore, but we keep ourselves occupied," Vince Murillo said.

Starting in March, with the help of their mother, the siblings set up their own grab-and-go stand.

"We see so many people in need that need a lot of stuff, so we decided to help them out," Carlen Otts said. "We have a lot of canned goods, that's for sure. We have some snacks, some dog food, some hair conditioner and some shampoo.”

The Yukon community is getting involved as many are dropping off items to help out.

The kids said they are experiencing the joy of giving back.

"It makes me feel happy because I can do something in our community to help other people,” Carlen Otts said.

"It makes me glad that I am giving to other people,” Allanis Otts said.

"It feels great that we can give back to our community and to serve our God with a purpose," Murillo said.
