An Oklahoma City Public Schools teacher at Kaiser Elementary School has died of COVID-19, family members confirmed on Facebook.
Kaiser Elementary School principal confirmed the passing of 4th grade teacher Laurie Cochran.
Family members said she fought the virus for about 10 days.
In a letter sent to Kaiser family’s school principal Susan Combs said:
It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of Laurie Cochran, 4th grade teacher at Kaiser Elementary School and longtime member of TeamOKCPS. All of us will have varied reactions to the death of someone close to us. Any reaction is normal in the grief process and can range from disbelief, withdrawal, to crying and anger. I encourage you to openly discuss your reactions and feelings regarding this tragedy with your family and those close to you.
Funeral services for Cochran have been scheduled for Monday, October 12.
