Medical Examiner Identifies 2 Men Killed In Norman Backyard

Authorities have identified the two men shot in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday in the backyard of a Norman home.

The medical examiner said Byron Carpenter and David Wilhelm were killed, but their final reports are still pending at this time.

Police responded to a shooting call Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of 24th Avenue Northeast and East Rock Creek Road.

Investigators think the deaths are an apparent murder-suicide.

Police said the initial investigation indicates Carpenter shot Wilhelm and then shot himself.
