A heartbroken family says a woman found shot to death knew her killer. Oklahoma City police found her body behind a vacant building Thursday in northeast Oklahoma City.

According to Star Patrick's family, the suspect Keith Smith is related to Patrick's boyfriend. They were hanging out when she was killed.

“He put the gun to the back of the seat, and he shot her with a 22 pistol and shot her in the back,” said Patrick’s stepson Matthew Fisher.

Fisher said his stepmother's last moments in life were agonizing.

“It wasn't even any last words, it was wheezing. My mother had no last words!” said Fisher.

He said Patrick was in a vehicle behind the building with her boyfriend, her boyfriend's cousin Keith Smith, and one other man when Smith allegedly pulled the trigger.

“Jealously, envy, because his cousin had something he didn’t and it was love, and he couldn’t have it, so he took it from us,” said Fisher.

According to police reports, Smith's mother called police and reported her son may have killed Patrick.

Fisher said Smith showed up at his house that night.

“He was in my house right after he took my mother away, he came back to my home like nothing happened!” said Fisher.

He said Smith appeared to be on drugs.

Fisher said it wasn't until the following day that he learned his stepmother had been killed, and that investigators believed Smith was responsible.

“I want him under the jail,” said Fisher.

He now wants Smith to pay for taking a life that meant so much to so many. Patrick leaves behind three young children.

“Caring, loving, wanted to do everything for everybody. That's all she wanted to do every day. She cared for them kids, she cared for me like I was her own son,” said Fisher.

Police later arrested Smith at a metro motel following a brief standoff.

No charges have been filed at this time.
