Charges have been handed down in Kay County District Court for three wrestling coaches at Ponca City High School.

Head Wrestling Coach Jared Wynn,31, is charged with harassment by use of an electronic device and permitting invitees under 21 to possess or consume alcohol or CDS.

Lay Coach Dylan Schickram, 21, faces charges of first or second-degree rape and soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology.

Volunteer Coach Justice Circle has been charged with one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology.

A Facebook post tipped police off on September 8 to accusations being made against multiple wrestling coaches at Ponca City High School.

An investigation revealed to police not only did Wynn serve minor coaches’ alcohol, he allegedly asked for nude photos from a former student.

“She was no longer a student enrolled at the high school and 18 years old,” said Captain Randy Tyner. “She had just graduated last spring I believe (and) just because of the close time frame of her graduation to that event; it raised some red flags with her.”

Schickram is accused of having sex with a student.

Court records reveal he reached out to the victim on Snapchat during a tournament in the Tulsa area.

She visited his hotel room during that time but the two didn’t have sex until a week following the tournament, according to court documents.

“She’s a student and he’s a coach so you're not able to have a consensual relationship, even if she had been 18,” said Tyner. “It’s just unable to occur when he is in that type of position.”

Circle is accused of having inappropriate conversations with a student under the age of 16 on Snapchat.

According to court records, the victim told Circle to stop making inappropriate comments to her. She told investigators it stopped for a while, but he started again.

The Ponca City School District released this statement to News 9 Wednesday:

Police encourage anyone in a similar situation to come forward.

“If we get the stories and we get it investigated and we get these people out of the positions that they are in, we can keep future people from being victimized,” said Tyner.

Police said Wynn turned himself in to police Wednesday evening, Schickram is expected to turn himself in to police soon.

Both Schickram and Circle are no longer with the district.
