The U.S. Transportation Secretary has announced around $2.3 million to go to tribal governments.

The grants will go to nine tribal governments around the country.

The funds come from the CARES Act and are meant to support transit operations.

In Oklahoma the Chickasaw Nation will receive just over $1M for their transit program and the Cherokee Nation will receive almost $900 thousand for demand-response vans for its tribal transportation Seville.
