Tulsa Police Arrest Two Teens Involved In Carjacking, Armed Robbery

Two teenagers are in custody Thursday morning after robbing a man at gunpoint and running from police.

Two teenagers are in custody Thursday morning after robbing a man at gunpoint and running from police.

Tulsa police said they got a call on Wednesday evening about a carjacking and armed robbery near 71st and Lewis.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday evening officers spotted the stolen car near 61st and Madison and tried to pull the driver over.

After stopping the vehicle, two teenage boys jumped from the car and began running.

A Tulsa police officer said as the boys were running one dropped a handgun and he could see the other boy had a gun as well. Police set up a perimeter and used K9’s to eventually stop the boys.

TPD captain Malcolm Wightman said “the suspects were eventually found with the assistance of citizens in one of the complexes the suspects were apprehended without any issues the second gun was recovered as well.”

Tulsa police have not released that names of those suspects at this time.
