Some sports for Hennessey Public Schools have been put on hold due to coronavirus.

In a statement Tuesday, Hennessey Public Schools Superintendent Mike Woods said Friday’s football game against Perry is being postponed indefinitely. The football game set for Friday, October 2 against Newkirk is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date due to a majority of the players, several coaches and support personnel being in quarantine.

Woods also said the Hennessey Public School volleyball team is cancelling their remaining games. According to the statement, a majority of the players, several coaches and support personnel are in quarantine after a player tested positive for the virus.

Woods said the district has three positive COVID cases at this time, two students and one staff member.
