All Newcastle schools will move to distance learning, school officials said Tuesday.
In a message to parents and families, the district said the move is due to being unsuccessful in slowing the spread of COVID-19 among the school community.
According to school officials, there are 27 COVID positive individuals in the district and 392 individuals in quarantine.
Distance learning begins Wednesday, September 23. The district plans to return to in-person classes on October 5.
