Hundreds of criminal charges are being dropped again at the Tulsa County Courthouse because of A recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

Every other Friday there is a McGirt docket day at the Tulsa County Courthouse, which is when a judge goes through the list of defendents, and if they or the victim are Native American, the charges are dismissed.

Some of the cases on Sept. 18 involve murder, shooting with intent to kill, and even rape charges.

This is because of the recent McGirt ruling that said crimes involving Native Americans have to be prosecuted in federal court, and not state court.

It is important to remember that once those charges are dropped in state courts, the charges are either picked up by tribal court or the U.S. Attorney's Office.
