The victim, David Brach said he ran into a store for just a few minutes and when he came out, his truck – and his dogs – were gone. Brach said it feels like part of the family has been missing for the last two months and is relieved police have made an arrest.

"He didn't have to kill them. I'm sure he got bit, but he could have just let them out,” said Brach, the owner of the dogs.

Police said surveillance video from July 25 shows Johnnie Snodgrass walk up to David Brach's truck, get in it and drive off. Brach's three dogs were inside.

Hours later, the dogs were found dead. Police found the truck the next day. Brach’s family has been hoping and praying that the man who did it would be caught.

"He's off the streets now. Hopefully it'll stay that way,” said Brach.

Snodgrass is currently in the Tulsa County jail accused of assault. The DA’s office has added three counts of animal cruelty and stealing the truck.

Documents said a Crime Stoppers tip led police to Snodgrass. Documents show a woman told police Snodgrass admitted to her he stole the truck but denied he killed the dogs, saying someone else did that.

The woman told police Snodgrass admitted to taking things out of the stolen truck then leaving it abandoned. Police said surveillance video showed a man get out of Brach's the truck and dump a dog in a yard.

"We've had a lot of support from friends, family, people we don't even know,” said Brach.

Brach said the three dogs were part of their family, and they didn't deserve to die. He said he and his family are heartbroken.

"There's a lot of good people out there. There's a lot of really good people, and there's a lot of really bad people,” said Brach. “We just wanted the dogs back, but that didn't happen."

Records show Snodgrass has spent time in prison in the past for drugs, stolen property and having guns as a felon.
