Konawa Public Schools closed at noon Friday after the district was notified of a student testing positive for COVID-19.
In a letter from the superintendent to parents, all schools are closed to quarantine through Aug. 28 and distance learning will be held.
All activities have been suspended.
In-person schooling is scheduled to resume on Monday, Aug. 31.
"There is nothing more important to Konawa Public Schools than the safety and health of our students, our staff and their families. We are working directly with county health officials to address this situation. They have recommended we share the following with you: Parents of students who have potential exposure will be contacted directly by either KPS and/or the Public Health Department. KPS will call you directly or via alert call for potential contact," Superintendent Cory Ellis said in the letter.
