Muskogee War Memorial Park Hopes To Open USS Batfish For Spring Tours

The USS Batfish in Muskogee is one step closer to letting visitors tour the World War II submarine.

Historic flooding last spring caused heavy damage to the submarine, even floating it from its original position.

The Muskogee War Memorial Park said it’s taking bids now to build a new concrete cradle for the submarine. The park said the Batfish could reopen for tours as soon as next spring.
