Tulsa Police have identified the suspects in two weekend officer-involved shootings.

TPD said officers shot and killed Jonathan Randell on Saturday after he pulled a knife on a Dollar Store employee, then tried to break into a domestic violence shelter. They said they had a specially-trained crisis officer on scene and used a non-lethal weapon option first, but they said he raised his arm as if to throw the knife at officers, so they fired.

Police said Randell had a current felony warrand and told officers he would not go back to prison. Randell died at the scene.

On Sunday, officers shot Earl Barton, Jr. after they said he also came at them with a knife following a chase. Police said Barton pulled a knife and fought police, and an officer fired a single shot.
