A Southwest Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Will Rogers World Airport Friday in Oklahoma City, a WRWA airport official confirmed to News 9.

Southwest Airlines Flight 1439 departed just before 3 p.m. from Chicago Midway and landed safely at 5 p.m. in Oklahoma City.

The airport official said a "mechanical" issue caused concern among the flight's pilots on the plane's first landing attempt.

The plane circled around the airport and landed safely at Will Rogers World Airport.

All 77 people on board were not harmed and deplaned.
