The Village City Council Unanimously Passes Mask Mandate

The Village City Council passed a mask mandate Monday with a unanimous 5-0 vote.

The proclamation is expected to be issued sometime Tuesday or late Wednesday.

The vote changes the city's code to give Mayor David Bennett the power to issue an emergency mask proclamation.

Under the villages mask ordinance all indoor public spaces will require a face mask.

In a quote on the passing of the ordinance vice mayor Sonny Wilkinson said "The number of people and businesses in support of this was overwhelming. This may be one of, if not the most, important votes I'll ever cast as a Council Member. Here's to a healthier and safer tomorrow (or Wednesday)!"
