The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education saw a shake-up as the board voted in a new president and vice president Monday night, though not everyone agreed on who should take on those roles.

The virtual meeting looked a little different as the board veered away from its normal unanimous voting pattern and instead voted against the first two nominees for both the president and vice president positions.

The board swore in two new board members, then moved on to the topic of reorganizing the board.

Shawna Keller, who served as president for the past year, was nominated to take on the position again, but the board decided against that in a 3-4 vote. Stacey Woolley was the next name thrown into the ring. The board came to a unanimous decision with Woolley, all agreeing she is right for the TPS Board President position.

It got a little heated during the VP nomination.

Jennettie Marshall was nominated first, but several board members spoke up and said they had concerns over possible divisiveness in her leadership and that they couldn't support her taking that role.

That vote failed 3-4.

The board ended up selecting Jania Wester for the vice president position in a 5-2 vote. Although Marshall shared concerns with the board saying Wester didn't represent all the students in her district well enough.

The meeting lasted a little more than two hours and it's online now. You can watch the full meeting below or by clicking HERE
