Okla. To See Dangerous Heat Index With Temperatures In Some Areas Climbing To 110

The heat will max out on Wednesday as highs approach 100.

The heat index will once again be dangerous with some areas climbing to around 110. 

A weak cold front will move in Wednesday and should start to provide a few afternoon storms. This pattern will continue through the holiday weekend.

Most days over the weekend will have a low chance for storms with the best chances on Friday. Any storm that forms will have lightning and a threat for burst of strong winds.

The heat will come back down to more seasonable levels although the humidity will remain up so the heat index will keep it feeling hot thru the weekend. 

Next week, the heat will gradually build. A few more storms look possible to start the week.
