Police continue to investigate a homicide near Northwest 105th Street and Western Avenue.
They said the victim was discovered before 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Autumn Run Apartments.
Family has since confirmed and identified the victim as 16-year-old Armani Combs.
They believe he was trying to protect his teenage sister from the shooter.
"Armani was sitting on the stairs, minding his own business. A guy came and asked where his sister was, which is my daughter. She is only 12," said Armani's mother, Kristy Combs.
Police believe the gunman is also believed to be a teenager, but do not have a description at this time.
Armani's mother said her son wanted to be a lawyer.
Adding, he was smart, and had a bright future.
What's even more painful, family said Armani's father was killed in 2015 when he was 11 years old.
"They haven't solved that either. Nobody will talk," said Tina Adams, Armani's grandmother.
Police said they are trying to track down surveillance of the shooting, and the suspect from Tuesday's shooting.
At last check, there were no leads.
"The investigators are going to try and go interview everybody around here to see if they heard anything. Or know anything that happened," said MSgt. Gary Knight of Oklahoma City police.
Family said Armani was not in a gang, and this was not related in anyway.
His brother wishes he would have been able to save Armani. The two were close, and he said the loss is unimaginable.
"I am sorry for not being there for him. I feel like, I just I don't know. It's just hard," said Ray Adams, Armani’s brother.
Police hope to have an update on the case Wednesday.
