Edmond police opened investigations into two separate shootings Thursday including a deadly one.
The shootings were in different locations but both were on West 15th Street about a mile apart. Investigators are not indicating if the shootings are connected.
Two shooting scenes were only 12 hours apart.
Edmond police first responded on Wednesday night to a McDonald's parking lot.

“We received multiple calls of shots fired at the McDonald’s on 15th and Santa Fe,” said Emily Ward, Edmond Police Department spokeswoman.
When officers arrived they found an injured woman on the ground next to a car.
“They immediately began CPR,” said Ward. “She was transported to the hospital and did pass away.”
The second shots fired call came in Thursday morning at the Coffee Creek apartments about one mile from the McDonalds.
“It was an elderly lady alone in her apartment,” said Ward. “They shot through the door multiple times.”

Police said the victim was not shot but was hurt by shrapnel. She was talking to officers at the scene and as she was being taken to the hospital. The woman told police she did not know who would want to shoot at her.
Investigators learned several more shots were fired into a neighboring apartment around the same time.
“No one was hurt in that apartment,” said Ward. “I’m not sure if anybody was in there at that time.”
Eyewitnesses from the second scene told police they saw two people drive away in separate cars.
