The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission has opened its doors once again. They are now offering in-person appointments to claimants who are needing help.
OESC Interim Director Shelley Zumwalt said she is hoping that being able to offer in-person appointments will help a lot of people who otherwise may have been struggling.
“I am hopeful that by sitting down with a person and someone being able to walk you through the claim and feeling like you are being guided, there will be a completion,” said Zumwalt.
But, she said there is sill a long way to go as call volumes are still high and continuous claims have still been going up.
She said they are working though to make sure they are helping as many people as they can with in-person or over the phone.
“We are making sure that no one will come to the office or call the office and hear, 'I am sorry, we can’t help you,'” said Zumwalt. “We will get you an appointment, we will help facilitate you, and if that is not your experience, please let me know.”
