Travelers are slowly returning to Will Rogers World Airport.

The airport said they've seen the most flyers in the past week and a half since the pandemic started.

Airline travel was down around 95 % during the COVID-19 pandemic’s peak.

That number in Oklahoma City is now 75% to 80%.

The terminal still looks pretty bare and social distancing is the only thing really stretching security lines.

Flyers told News 9, it’s still hard to sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.

“After I got here, I was like ‘Do I feel okay? Did I catch anything?’”, said traveler Kari Metcalfe.

“Definitely stressful coming up to this date and just trying to figure it out, but I’m very excited,” said Baylee Bartlett who was flying to see her folks in Colorado.

Bartlett said she got a roundtrip ticket to Denver two weeks ago for $100.

Most everyone at the airport Thursday was wearing a mask or had packed one for their flight.

“I brought two, the comfortable one and the not so comfortable one,” said traveler Andrew Williams.

Some airlines are reportedly being more lenient on the mask policy.
