Oklahoma City police are searching for a teenager who is accused of beating his mother with a sledgehammer and stabbing her. Authorities learned Christopher Weaver, 17, conspired with his girlfriend to allegedly kill his mother.
Investigators believed the motive for the assault was due to Weaver’s anger at his mother’s rules that kept him from his girlfriend.
Police were called to their home near Southeast 34th Street and Lindsey Avenue last month after the woman was assaulted.
She told police her teenage son snuck into her room while she was asleep.
“He assaulted her multiple times on the body with a sledgehammer and stabbed her in the neck with a knife,” said Sgt. Megan Morgan, Oklahoma City Police Department.
The teen was nowhere to be found when officers arrived to the home. Police did find the sledgehammer that caused injuries to the victim's arms, legs and torso. However, they did not find the large hunting knife that was used to stab the victim.
“She was transported to a local hospital,” said Morgan. “She is expected to be OK.”
When the victim returned home, she noticed Weaver left behind his phone and wallet. She found shocking evidence of her son's alleged plot to kill her.
According to the arrest warrant, Weaver sent several text messages to his girlfriend saying, "I hate her," and "I want to kill her. I'm on the verge of just killing her then making it look like an accident or natural causes."
Weaver's girlfriend responded by telling him to "drug her a tiny bit, so she won't wake up."
The woman told investigators she also found a bag with what appeared to be crushed up pills in her son's wallet.
“The suspect now has a warrant out for his arrest,” said Morgan. “The charges are domestic ADW and assault with a deadly weapon.”
