Edmond Public Schools has announced its plan to safely resume sports amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the district's website, sports will resume on June 11 as part of a phased plan. The district said all June workouts and activities are voluntary.
In phase one, beginning June 11, coaches are permitted to have face-to-face contact with 7-12 enrolled or pre-enrolled students. Team practices, camps, clinics and leagues are not allowed. And practices must begin no earlier than 8 a.m. and cannot run later than 12 p.m.
The district said the health of the athletes and coaches is top priority.
