Severe Storms Pass Through Okla. Early Friday; Rain, Storms Continue Into Memorial Day Weekend

Severe storms worked their way down to the Oklahoma City metro leaving thousands without power Friday morning.

The main severe threats for the early morning storms were strong winds and hail. Winds of up to 60 MPH hour were reported.

As of 6 a.m., over 16,000 residents in the OKC metro were reported to be without power.

A second wave of storms is expect Friday afternoon.

Temperatures will be warm Friday and Saturday.

More severe storms are expected in the west and Central Oklahoma Saturday and Sunday morning. Storms will continue into Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately, storms will continue Memorial Day through much of the following week. The heaviest rainfall is expected next week.
