The Chickasha Police Department reported to a call of shots fired at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

The standoff took place on the 100 block of Elmview Drive.

According to authorities, a woman called police to say her "extremely intoxicated" husband, 33-year-old Brian Curtis Hassler, was attempting to kill her while their two children were asleep in the home. Hassler reportedly fired shots at the woman as she sought refuge in a neighbor's yard.

Special response teams from the Chicaksha Police Department and the Grady County Sheriff's Office were joined at the scene by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Tactical Team.

Officers located and safely rescued the woman.

After an approximately three-hour standoff, Hassler exited the home and surrendered without further incident.

Hassler now sits in the Grady County Law Enforcement Center charged with shooting with intent to kill.
