The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a female passenger died and a male driver was injured in a rollover accident on the Interstate 40 on ramp from U.S. Highway 281 in Caddo County shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officials said the passenger, identified as 20-year-old Nadia Storms of Mutual, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was ejected an unknown distance from the vehicle.
The male driver, identified as 24-year-old James Reeves of Mutual, was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital.
He was treated for leg and trunk injuries and released, according to OHP.
Authorities determined the vehicle was traveling on the eastbound on ramp of I-40 from U.S. Highway 281 when the vehicle accelerated and lost control departing the roadway.
Due to the slope of the embankment, and the vehicle tires tripping the vehicle, the vehicle overturned an unknown amount of times, per OHP.
The vehicle struck some small trees before coming to rest on the passenger side.
