Police have identified two victims following a Feb. 20 murder-suicide investigation in Bethany.

Joshua Aber, 39, shot Audra Strable, 30, to death before killing himself, according to police. Officers had been called to their home near Northwest 43rd Street and North Rockwell Avenue multiple times for welfare checks before finding them dead inside a bedroom.

"I kind of prepared myself for the news today," said Ryan Aber, brother of Joshua Aber. "You sort of hope that it's not him that did this, but we know the truth."

Aber added, "She didn't deserve this at all," he said referring to Stable, the mother of three young children. "Nobody did, but there is nothing we can do now."

Aber said his brother had been struggling with addiction to methamphetamine for a long time.

"I don't think we were in denial about what was going on, but at the same time, you hoped that he would get things headed in the right direction. He was smart and talented. Things just never clicked for him quite right," he said.

Police said they believe Joshua Aber killed Strable sometime between Feb. 18 and 20.

A gofundme account has been set up for Stable to help with funeral expenses and the care for her children.
