Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg made a stop Thursday in Oklahoma City.

It's the third for his campaign in just six weeks.

Bloomberg kicked off the event with a little humor.

“I have made a commitment that when I'm in the White House there will be no more tweeting,” Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg told a crowd of supporters, and those on the fence, what he would bring to the table.

“It's a management job and I ran New York City. It's not as big as the United States but it is 300,000 employees and 8.4 million people,” he said referring to his time as New York City Mayor. He was the first mayor to serve three terms in office.

Bloomberg also spoke about his commitment to the environment, healthcare and jobs.

“We need to make sure we make it better,” he said. “So, the opportunities that some of us are lucky to have are available to everybody to the extent humanly possible.”

According to two recent polls conducted in Oklahoma, Bloomberg and fellow democratic candidate Joe Biden are in a statistical tie.

During a one-on-one interview, News 9 asked Bloomberg what he would say to Oklahomans to tip the scales in his direction.

“Joe is a legislator and not a management person. He's a legislator and a good legislator. But the President’s job is to run the country and for that,” he continued. “You need someone with real experience and that's what I have.”

When asked about his ability to identify with Oklahoma's large blue-collar population, he cited his determination to become a self-made man.

“I worked my way through college. I worked my way through graduate school. I had a job for 15 years and got fired. Then I started a company from one person, four people the second day. Today it's 20,000 people,” he said.

The presidential primary election in Oklahoma is Tuesday, March 3.
