Norman Mayor Breea Clark has issued a local emergency proclamation Monday night in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Effective immediately, organized community gatherings of more than 50 people are now restricted.
City officials also said dine-in services at restaurants will be prohibited. However, there are no restrictions on drive-through, drive-in, takeout or delivery. Bars lounges, taverns, private clubs, gyms, health studios, theaters and commercial amusement facilities will all be closed. These regulations will go into effect at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18.
This is in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The amended regulations will remain in place until April 3 unless extended or rescinded by the mayor.
