The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum announced big changes to their 25th remembrance ceremony of the Murrah Building Bombing Wednesday due to COVID-19 concerns.
Following CDC recommendations to limit large gatherings, officials from the Memorial and Museum sent out an announcement saying they know the ceremony will not be possible this year.
In a statement, officials said the alternate plan in the works will include an hour long prerecorded ceremony with 168 seconds of silence, as well as the reading of the 168 names of those tragically killed. The program will air at 9 a.m. on April 19 on News 9.
The final plans will be established in the coming weeks.
The Memorial Marathon has already been postponed to October, and the Museum is closed with no planned reopening date.
