Cleveland County Courthouse To Begin Easing COVID-19 Restrictions

The Cleveland County Courthouse relaxed its restrictions that were put in place because of COVID-19. 

The Cleveland County Commissioners said the courthouse will go back to its normal hours Tuesday. They also said the full staff could come back and staff will stop taking everyone’s temperature at the door 

Cleveland County Comssissioner Darry Stacy took to Facebook to lay out the changes. 

Stacy said from now until May 28 the public will be allowed in the courtroom and court offices, but only for scheduled appearances that have been approved by a judge or if its an emergency. 

The commissioner said everyone will still need to keep up social distancing guidelines. That means only 10 people will be allowed inside any office at once. 

Each office will take steps to protect vulnerable employees and make accommodations when they can. 

The east entrance of the courthouse will stay closed, because of a broken x-ray machine. Once that machine is fixed, the doors will be open again. 

The Cleveland County Commissioners say right now the plan is to lift all the restrictions starting on June 1, but the plans may change.
