When restaurants open their dining rooms on Friday, things will look much different.

The doors to the GOAT Bar & Kitchen in Tulsa have been open for the past several weeks, but all co-owners James and Nabil Alame have seen are empty tables and chairs.

"When we found this corner here, we knew it was the spot right away," James Alame said.

After more than a year of planning and preparing to open The GOAT near 3rd and Kenosha, they finally began serving food on March 16.

"The next day, we get shut down at midnight," James said.

Since then, the GOAT has relied on word-of-mouth and social media to serve food to-go. On Friday, James says their dining room will be open-- with many precautions in place.

"It's still 50 percent capacity, we have extra sanitation, sanitation stations, and we screen customers for symptoms," said James.

The state is requiring restaurants to spread tables 6 feet apart, which The GOAT is doing.

James said they've also spread the bar chairs apart and says most of his staff will be wearing masks.

But not every restaurant plans to come back Friday.

The McNellie's group owner said they'll slowly start opening patios back up next week, but only for reservations.

Bricktown Brewery executives said they will be opening their restaurants in a staggered process over the next few weeks.

Kilkenny's and Nola's say they won't be opening their dining rooms until further notice.

James said they're ready to serve their food and drinks safely.

"We're so excited to have you come out and try us," James said.

James said he's no stranger to Tulsa's food scene. His dad is Tally Alame with Tally's Good Food Cafe, and he said Tally's plans on reopening Friday too.
