Wednesday is the last day for businesses like bars, gyms, salons and barbershops to be open before they'll have to shut down for 21 days.

A total of 19 counties are affected by the Governor's latest executive order, including Oklahoma County.

All of these counties have confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In addition to shutting down what the Governor calls non-essential businesses, Governor Stitt and Mayor Holt are also ordering a "safer at home policy for older Oklahomans and people with chronic health issues."

That means those people should stay at home until the end of April, unless they need to go outside for necessary services like groceries, and doctors appointments.

All elective surgeries have also been put on halt for the next 21 days, there is also a statewide visitation ban at nursing homes.

“I want to be clear with Oklahomans. I know this affects all four million Oklahomans,” Governor Stitt said. “I remain committed to making decisions based on reliable data, the emerging science and the advice of experts on my governor’s solutions task force on how to best apply social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19.”

Both Governor Stitt and Mayor Holt agree that the current number of Oklahomans with COVID-19 is likely much higher than 107.

Governor Stitt believes its more likely around 500 and could get into the thousands.
