OKC Mother Searches For Answers 1 Month After Son Was Killed

One month after Takota Wolf Wise was killed, his mother and police are still searching for answers.

The investigation began on January 23, when 22-year-old Wise was found dead on the side of the road near the intersection of Southwest 104th Street and Morgan Road.

Wise’s mother, Robin Jones, has been heartbroken ever since.

“The death of a child changes you in ways that you could never imagine,” Jones said.

Jones said she'd hoped the case would be solved by now, but a suspect has yet to be named.

“I called the Eastern Shoshoni Tribe, which Takota was on their rolls, and they put me in touch with the attorney general of the tribe,” Jones said.

Along with the tribe’s legal help, Jones has gained a following on a special Facebook page she created for the case, Rest in Heaven Takota Wolf Wise.

Local supporter Michael Bell said he considers Wise to be one of many Missing or Murdered Indigenous People.

“We want to approach the situation on multiple platforms. This is a huge issue,” Bell said.

Jones also asked anyone with surveillance cameras in the southwest OKC area to check their footage facing the street for anything suspicious between January 22 and January 23.

“I'm stepping up as his voice and I will not stop speaking for Takota until justice is served for him,” Jones said of her son.

A fundraiser is also available online for a private investigator should the case go cold.
