TPD: Fender-Bender Ends With Car Crashing Through Garage

Police say a fender-bender lead to a car crashing through a garage.

The first witness said the driver of a Mercedes rear-ended her Jeep at 61st and Yale.

The driver of the Jeep said the Mercedes took off and she followed to get a license plate number.

From there, witnesses said the Mercedes ran over a stop sign, hit a brick mailbox, drove onto a yard and went through a garage before coming to a stop.

“I was sitting in my backyard and I heard a loud bang and I knew that there was a car involved,” Neighbor Rick Meyers said. “I then went and tried to provide assistance to the lady inside the garage inside the car.”

The driver of the Mercedes, 54-year-old Jill Norris was taken into custody. Records show she was booked on complaints of attended hit and run, unattended hit and run and DUI.
