Severe storms move across the state Thursday

A few thunderstorms returned to the state Thursday afternoon, and quickly moved northeast into Kansas.  More thunderstorms may still develop in central Oklahoma through the early evening hours.  Any storms that do form may quickly become severe.

There is a risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday evening and overnight, with an enhanced risk for far northeast Oklahoma into southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri.  As with any severe thunderstorm, the threats can include large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes.

A cold front will begin moving through the state overnight, and a line of thunderstorms may form along and ahead of that front as it moves southeast through the state.  The main threat with those storms will be large hail and damaging wind, as well as frequent lightning.
