Today I was impressed.

My assignment took me to downtown for the 1st annual "Move Up Downtown Living Tour".   The open house event was to showcase 11 properties in downtown Oklahoma City that are luxurious and up for grabs.

Time was tight, so we only toured Block 42, The Montgomery, Hadden Hall, Harvey Park and the Brownstones at Maywood Park.

These apartments, townhouses and lofts offered up some of the most upscale living environments I've ever seen and at a shockingly reasonable price.

This move to makeover downtown is called the greatest story of downtown Oklahoma City's renaissance and I couldn't agree more.   I've always had a desire to live in a downtown area, but the prices were always the deal breaker in the others cities across America I've called home.

Not so here.  My next move will most likely be into a downtown apartment and I would highly encourage others to check out these hot spots.

www.downtownokc.com is a great place to start exploring or just take a drive around the Arts District, the Business District, Automobile Alley, Deep Deuce or Bricktown.

Personally, I'm one of the very, very few people who would rather stay in an apartment and not hassle with the troubles of owning a home.   I know, I know.. there are big financial benefits to owning and selling a house, but I have no desire to deal with mortgages, maintenance and the bills that a homeowner looks forward to every month.

I'll stick with the simple, easy life of apartment / urban living and I hope my future lies within the downtown Oklahoma City area.
