A man was killed and two others taken to a local hospital by helicopter after a truck collided with a car in northwest Oklahoma County, Oklahoma County Sheriff deputies said.

A truck ran the stop sign at the intersection of Edmond Road and County Line Road last night at around 9:30 p.m. going southbound and struck a Ford Mustang going northbound, authorities said.

The wreck killed 82-year-old Wilford Johnson who was a passenger in the Mustang. The driver, Johnson's grandson, 18-year-old Barret Waltz, and Barret's mother, 48-year-old Lousondra Waltz, were both critically injured and taken to the OU Medical Center for treatment.

Both the driver of the truck, 23-year-old Juan Roberto Hernandez, and the truck passenger, 19-year-old Alfredo Ramos, suffered minor injuries and were transported to the OU Medical Center by ambulance.

Eyewitnesses say the driver of a white Chevrolet reached speeds of up to 100 mph as it passed other vehicles.

"It looks like it might have something to do with maybe an alcohol-related collision," Tracy Bartlett, an Oklahoma County Sheriff deputy, said. "From what we are gathering right now, they came from a rodeo up in the other county -- possible impaired with their driving."

Oklahoma County Sheriff deputies said serious criminal charges could be filed if tests for alcohol do in fact return positive.
