NORMAN, Okla. -- High winds left many without power and damaged property across the state Tuesday.

A McClain county airport suffered severe damage Tuesday morning.

Strong winds hit the David J. Perry Airport in Goldsby - damaging planes and hangars.

A power outage due to high winds also left downtown Norman, including Cleveland County Courthouse and Jail, in the dark Tuesday morning, authorities said.

At 11:15 power was restored to the jail, authorities said. The number of OG&E customers without power had significantly gone down to 293 in the Norman area and 504 in OKC.

No damage estimate is available yet in association to the Goldsby airport.
