A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until noon for the metro area as a line of clouds moves in from the north and northeast.

At 7:23 a.m. there were strong thunderstorms located nine miles north of Prague, just north of Moore. Increasing winds will occur ahead of the storms with gusts possible of 50 to 60 mph. Counties under a thunderstorm watch include Cleveland, Oklahoma, Pottawatomie and Seminole. Residents should prepare for strong winds and possible heavy rainfall.

Storm chances will diminish as the day wears on, but rain could come back into the area tomorrow and throughout the rest of the week.
