For the fourth time this week, the State Health Department ordered the Purcell pool to close. The water was leaking into the pump room, creating a danger of electrocution. The pool's water has also been cloudy.
The City Manager said the cloudiness is caused by the pool's paint coming loose.
"Around Purcell, there's really not a lot to do unless you go swimming or hang with your friends," Katie Fielder said.
The closings led Katie's grandparents to file a claim against the city.
"When we brought them to the pool to swim, they were only allowed to swim for about 40 mintues and then they closed it, "Katie's grandmother Gloria Bidwell said.
Some worry that pool chemicals haven't been properly mixed, and are causing sores in their childrens' mouths.
We checked with the Health Departmnet and learned that tests on the water on June 12 and 17 found nothing wrong with the chemical balance. The pool is expected to reopen by mid-July.
