WYNNEWOOD, Okla. -- A new litter of baby lions has broken records at the GW Exotic Animal Park in Garvin County.

Elvis, the father, is proud of his growing pride while Marty, the mother, is glad it's over. Between them they produced a litter of five white lion cubs, four girls and one boy.

"Out of all the research I've been able to do, I've only found that one other litter in the world has been of five white babies and that was in a zoo down in China," said Joe Schreibvogel, the park's director.

Two weeks ago, the park manager heard cubs crying in the lions' den. Inside he found three cubs, all white.

"I called Joe up and said Joe, you're not going to belive this, but we've got five babies and every one of these guys are white," said park manager Chris Binkley.

Schreibvogel couldn't believe the litter was all white because both parents are brown lions. The baby lions have plenty of attitude and plenty of appetite. And they're more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

"Yesterday we had them all out running around on the floor while we were taking care of them and they looked like little circus elephants," said Brinkley. "They were actually standing on top of each other. They had three in a line."

The GW Exotic Animal Park has no plans to sell the baby lions. In a few weeks, they'll be on public display.
