BETHANY, Okla. -- A year ago Kedrin Wade couldn't walk, but he's not letting that stop him from riding his bike in this weekend's Spin Your Wheels bicycle tour.
Kedrin was diagnosed a quadriplegic about a year ago after a trampoline accident fractured his vertebrae and bruised his spinal cord.
"I did a flip and obviously it didn't work very well," Kedrin said.
After a few weeks of therapy at The Children's Center in Bethany, Kedrin was able to take a few steps at last year's Spin Your Wheels event.
"We went from not being able to move at all to taking about three steps," his mother Selena Wade said. "It was just unbelievable that this kid I had seen in the wheelchair, and a few weeks back was flat on his back in a gurney coming in here, walking towards me. I was flabbergasted."
A year later, Kedrin is hoping on a new bike to ride in the Children's Center annual Spin Your Wheels fundraiser.
"It doesn't surprise me at all that he's going to be in this ride," Selena Wade said. "I've had people say to me, how do you deal with it? But you can't put them in a bubble."
