Workers make emergency repairs to I-40

The left and center lanes of westbound Interstate 40 at Interstate 44 were closed for more than 5 hours on Tuesday.

Workers repaired a hole, about 1 foot in diameter, on the Amarillo Junction Bridge that runs above I-40.

The westbound I-40 ramp to westbound I-44 was be closed throughout the same time period.

This is the third time in a week span that I-40 has needed repairs.
