3:48 p.m. Sunday.

Leaving San Antonio where we picked up our managing editor, Bryan Eckert. Now en route to Beaumont, my hometown.

I'm told it's a "ghost town", with only hotels & a handfull of gas sations still open. We had an hour delay in San Antonio due to a flat tire. Our plan is to enter Louisiana sometime late tonight or early Monday morning.

We will have a more solid plan tonight.
